Green Guy, in Progress

And this guy I'm still working on -- I've added more tentacles and I think it's wrapping up pretty well. I still need to resolve the bottom. This is again on the theme of "To Be With" -- it's a communication between the big guy and the five little ones to it's left. This is made of fabric and polyfil, all hand sewn.

Thinking about these guys and that theme of being together is also connected to the bag creature story -- I'm interested in groups and how the act and connect. How do creatures who don't quite fit in, find their niche? They always thrive on love and strive to find their purpose, their home, and their group.

Sculptures in Progress Cont.

This is a piece that I'm currently calling, "To Be With." It is made of stoneware ceramics and fabric.

More Prints!

With these prints I have been exploring the form and shape of the bag creatures, and other creatures floating around in my brain. While creating these prints, I can really discover the forms that I am working with, and perfect them. I think this has been reflected in my new work on the bag creatures, which are much more perfected and expanded -- more colors, textures, and shapes.

What's Going On! :D

Hello Everyone! I'd like to share with you a bit of what I've been up to the past couple months -- mostly works in progress! I've been doing a bit of sculpture, some print making (woodcut), a lot of sewing, a lot of pottery, and a bit of drawing. My main goal this year is to work on and expand the Bag Creature Project -- I recieved a grant from the Vermont Arts Council which will allow me to build more creatures, work on a new and improved performance, and present/perform at schools in Vermont! I can't express how thankful I am for such an amazing opportunity and the ability to sustain a working studio, and be able to travel where I need in order to share the bag creature story!

Prints

Hello!

Hello All!

Once again, I'm horrible at updating, but I will try my best!

Note: check out my site on Etsy! http://www.etsy.com/shop/EscapeClam

New things are being added all the time!

I'm currently working on more bag creatures (to have performances throughout VT, hopefully by early spring), wood block prints, various other sculpture, sewing/fashion design, a children's book, and pottery! Phew! I will attempt to update with photos of my new work -- please enjoy!

And so...

I am not the best at updating, apparently, but I will try my best!

I survived Nagoya and am now back in Hanover continuing my work. Nagoya was absolutely amazing -- I really can't believe that I was a part of such a wonderful show! I learned so much and I've just been inspired to keep on going!

In other news, I am currently exhibiting at the Barrows Rotunda at Dartmouth College with a piece called, "You Never Know." This is also part performance, much like the Japan piece, but involving very different characters.

I am also attempting to put together a youtube channel with the recordings of my various performances...stay tuned!
